The pond oasis lit at night

The Pond Oasis

Our pond oasis is the heart of Hidden Oak Hideaway and a labor of love that we built entirely by hand designed to blend naturally with the surrounding landscape. This one-of-a-kind retreat is made up of two connected, swimming ponds linked together by a gentle lazy river creating a peaceful space to relax, explore and connect with nature. The sound of flowing water follows you throughout the oasis with three unique waterfalls, including our favorite feature a waterfall cave where you can walk behind the cascading water for a truly unforgettable experience, lush tropical plants surround the ponds while natural bog filtration systems work along well water to create a thriving ecosystem that keeps the water beautifully clear without relying on traditional pool chemicals.

Spend the day snorkeling among colorful, Quarry, goldfish, tilapia, bluegill, and many other fish that call the pond home lounge on the Sandy Beach area sway in the hammock island fire up the charcoal grill for a laid-back afternoon or simply enjoy the peaceful sites and sounds of the waterfall.

As the sunsets, the pond oasis transformed into entirely different experience, thoughtfully place lighting, brings the waterfalls pathways and surrounding landscapes to life creating a magical atmosphere that’s just as memorable as the daytime scenery whether you’re looking for adventure or to relax by the fire pit and unwind, the pond oasis offers an experience, unlike anywhere else.

Good to know

  • Private gated entrance and your own parking, with 1.5 acres to roam.
  • Solar power runs the lights and outlets — go easy on cloudy days. AC runs off the generator, and you bring the gas.
  • The bathroom is a composting outhouse, and the shower is outdoors and heated.
  • We're on an artesian well, so the water smells like sulfur now and then. It's the minerals, and it's harmless.
  • You're in the woods. Expect bugs, lizards, frogs, deer, owls — and the occasional tractor or ATV out on the road.
  • We live on the adjoining piece of the property, close enough to help and far enough to leave you alone.
